I have a vintage universal wiper motor with automatic stopper. It has 3 terminls labeled +, - and S. Can you tell me how it should be wired?

    Thanks

+= positive, - ground and s is a ground with a switch in it

  3. Traditionally, wipers were wired with switched GROUND. Positive power to one terminal, ground the case, then ground the motor to make it sweep. The case ground allowed it to park, with an internal switch to shut it off when fully parked. I have only encountered ONE wiper motor NOT wired that way (Citroën 2CV). Odds are you don't have that one.

I'd hit it with positive, negative as marked, and negative on the thrid wire, figuring that one to be the switched lead.

Thanks, but I dropped it and busted the internal plate that holds the magnets to the armature. Looking for another...
