Wire welder wire, Whats your favorite?

    I am not an expert but here goes. I buy my wire in small spools from the welding store. I ask for and they supply what they call body shop wire. It flows out well and grinds easy. I expect it is not a high tensile strenght. It is .023,the structural welding I do on frames and such is a higher strenght .035. I will say if your welder does not have a lot of amp rating stay with the smaller as it may not be able to handle the larger wire. Like a 110 unit or 140 amp welder.

    stay away from the cheap china wire!!!!! a waist of money
     
  4. I just ran out of wire tonite and ran up to HOME-DEPOT to get Lincoln wire and its made in Mehecho now. Since when? The last spool I bought there was U.S.A. Anyways I run .025 for sheet metal and .035 for heavier work and a 75-25 mix. I really dont burn up too much .035 as I would rather use the stick welder for heavier work because the wire feeder is just a 110 unit. Mitch.
