Here's mine! It's a rockin' set of 19's. Soon to be sandblasted and powdercoated gloss black. Thinking about a set of the repop Fulton stainless spoke covers for it. Jim
It's a project but my vintage racer sits on 19" - 1929 Huppmobile wires. It will be similar to a Miller race car with a V8 60 flathead.
btt, for any more pictures.. would love to see some more color combo's. trying to find a colors for my Modified. anyone have any tan with orange wire combo?? never though yellow with orange wires would work until I seen Jakes coupe..
I have to bring this back to the top....I have no idea how I missed this thread the first time, but I LOVE wire wheels!!! Here's mine...
Why thank you Larry. I just got a set of 17" wires from by brother for Christmas so I sold Chris my 16" tires (kept the wheels) and and now saving a little more for some tires to put on the new wheels. I've always wanted a flathead powered, spoked wheel car and now I'm finally working towards having one. Keep these coming!!!
Glad you got some 17's jj, cause I decided to keep mine. I've discovered a killer looking wheel/tire combo...5.50x17 BFG's front and 7.50 BFG's rear. The fronts are 27" tall and the rears are 32" tall. The tires have the piecrust sidewall and the treads match. And you don't have to widen the wheels. It gives a great rubber rake....it's all about stance. I'm thinking about copyrighting the look. (now I just need to buy up all the 17's I can find to corner the market on this new look.)
Larry I've been spoiled by Chris and his brother with these 17" tires. I'm just following their lead because the rear tires (even though they don't match treadwise) are probably the****iest tires I've ever seen. I should have them mounted on some black wire wheels by late April when Coker rolls though town. Now if there was a way to trade my '33 3w for Mel (Dirtiest Devil's) '32 Roadster I would jump on it in a second. That car kills me.
Wanted a resto look with my '31 Pontiac. The hubcaps are old repos (no longer produced) that fit nicely on the Wheel Vintiques wires.
650x16 front and 7.50x17 rear. The fronts are us royal air rides they are 28 inches tall. The rears are Denmans off of a 1934 cadillac V16 I got for free. They are kinda wide and 32 inches tall.
Scooter, do you know any more about this car? Anyone? I really like the wheel and tire combo on it. And a lot of other stuff, too. Gary
I do not remember this guy's name. Sorry! He's a HAMBer for sure, though. Maybe he'll come forward. For some reason I want to think he was in the Denver area?? Can't remember for sure though.
