This car belonged to Dennis Brand, a high school cl***mate, in 1957. His dad was an old-time hot rodder and built the car for Dennis. Super nice car.
Agreed! Im putting 39 merc bars and the little overiders on my 32 pickup. and this thread has me leaning back towards the wires as well..was going 15 and 16" 40-48 solids...maybe I need to pony up for another set of tyres!
My Dad's 30 with 53 Buick Skylark wheels. Chrome removed and painted, trim rings added. Mounted on Buick finned aluminum drums. Ron
Is that just a coincidence or are we talking the same family?? I wondered about that - Wheelkid is good people.
Same guys. Father Gary, son Jimmy (wheelkid). Company is Rally America. Gary used to make wheels under his own name, but I think he sold that enterprise to Wheel Vintiques.
i know this is an old thread but i just mounted these 16" bent spoke kelsey hayes wires on my 33 and want to plaster pics of it everywhere Shot at 2012-09-02
One of my best friends has two sets of wires that he runs on various cars. These are new aftermarket wheels (look like old ford adjustables) less than 3 or 4 years old. He got to looking at them real close and discovered 6 of the 8 wheels have real loose spokes and appear to be worn badly at the intersection of the spoke and the inner hub. We were going to try to weld each spoke in place but since the wheels are powdercoated, that idea went out the window. He called the manufacturer and was told they would try to repair them but the coating needs to be removed first. The local stripper figures it will cost about as much to strip the powdercoating off as a new wheel would cost. Ideas?? Lots of $$$$$ spent for some wall hangers!
Did anyone ever make 16" 6 stud bent wires like a K/H wire? I got the 19" wires on mine but she looks like a pig on stilts! Good shout I agree, Neals Deuce is a beauty! Lovin' the Tacoma Cream.
