Hi there....can anyone tell me where I can get or order a set of wheel spacer rings so I can run a set of 35 Ford 16 inch rim's on my 48 brake drum's. Thanks. D
Search, been several posts in the last week. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236350&showall=1 Like this one.
I have sold quite a few here with zero complaints. They are $45 shipped for a set of four. They are lazer cut so no warpage or slag. No distortion from machining either.
How are those supposed to work, when you have a 1" gap between the hub and the back side of the lug holes??
they dont, they are only meant for early ford drums from 40-48. if you are trying to fit wires onto later brakes (like F1/100 or such) you will need spacers designed for that application.
These rings are to even up the mounting surface of the wheel. Henry made the wheels with a step so if you try to mount them to a '40 drum, they will pull and bend because there is no inside support. A one inch wheel adapter and these rings will let you mount the Ford wires to 8in Maverick rears if that is what you are trying to do. The wires don't fit 9in rears as the drums are too big
I noticed in the MT catalogue they list wire wheel support rings for 32-35 wires. They appear to take up the slack and support the center. They are designed to work with their Lincoln style brakes and drums. They only show 5.5 inch bolt pattern but they might re drill them for a smaller pattern? I don't know if they will help with 8 or 9 inch rear end brakes?
