I read a technical article a while back, maybe a couple of months ago on how to make your own clamps for wiring. My fab skills ****, so I need instructions. I can't seem to find it. Anybody have leads? Or, I need clamps with approx 1/2" ID, with a flange for a 3/8 bolt. The stuff you can buy at the hardware store ****s. I'll buy something that fits my needs if it's available.

I sometimes get some 1/8 or 1/16 x 1/2 or 3/4 wide aluminum bar from the hardware store, and bend a half or full loop around something round of the right diameter, then bend a tab on it, then drill hole(s) for a screw/bolt. I file the cut ends so it looks pretty.

Yep, can't beat Adel clamps. Traditional, work good, look good. If you want something a bit simpler, the dipped clamps in Gimpy's link to McMaster are good too.

  8. Uh, sorry 1/2" EMT is not 7/8". OK, it's slightly larger than 5/8" at .706", not quite 45/64". And that's the OD, not ID. The connectors need a 7/8" hole, and if you were running 1/2" rigid that would be true for the straps. A 5/8" hole saw will produce a nice tight hole for it to go through in most cases. You're having a brain fart.... o_O
