I had trouble with the new turn signal switch I bought from Macs a couple years ago for a '56 Ford. After installation and the lights/signals doing funny things, I found the green wire and the light green/white stripe were mis-positioned on the switch. Connecting those two as they should have been solved the issue. The schematic in the '56 Ford shop manual has a nice little diagram that shows wire colors also.

I have found with manuals is they have misprints also when I started on mine 40 years ago and over years am***ing a large collection of literature on my 54 I took what was written as gospel.today with the net it in most cases confirms that they were wrong.where as before the net you had to figure things out yourself through trial and error.sites like this and Jeffs provide a lot of info to help new blood entering the hobby.this is not to say all info is correct on net but someone will usually point out the mistakes.must add I am following your build
