1952-59 Ford Wiring Harness Question

I'm in the process of purchasing new gauges and AC for my 56. I would like to add a new fuse block wiring harness at the same time. Here is my issue.

Someone has replaced the wiring under the hood at some point before I bought the car. It is practically new. I don't really want to take it out if I don't need to.

What do you think about adding a smaller fuse block to cover the new gauges, and AC? Also, I have an electric fan and the electronic 4r70w transmission that I could run through the fuse block. It would allow me to keep my original headlight switch and knobs too.

Is this a viable option or should I just pull all of the wiring out and replace it with a new wiring kit with enough circuits to cover everything.

If the car is OG, they didn't come with a fuse box. That was the deciding factor when I wired my '59, out with the old since it was quite the rats nest under the dash. Get the right harness and just about everything will be plug and play.

 

Pretty much what Bob said.........if it's the original wiring, replace it all with a good quality harness.

 

That's the direction I was leaning towards.
Turns out I won't be going to Louisville this year because my son will be deploying in a couple of months so the wife and I decided to go see him before he leaves.

I already talked to Rob at Rebel wiring and will probably go that direction. I also did the research on the gauges and the AC. I plan on buying all of it this year at some of the shows and make it my winter project next year. That will also allow me to pull the dash out and paint it.

I pulled my dash out as well. I wanted to see what was behind it and it needed to be painted.
