Any suggestions on a repro ford wiring harness for my A coupe. I want to use cloth covered wiring. I had one suggestion of a 41 ford harness. FRom what I understand the repro harness is plastic covered wire with cloth over it for the correct look.
If you're up to making your own harness, look up Rhode Island Wiring. They sell cloth covered wire in many colors and designs. I used it to wire a 59 Fiat from scratch and it came out great. They make harnesses too but they get expensive.
Depends on how you want it wired, I am using F1 truck (1956) wiring diagrams for the base for my 33 coupe. Just remember that these diagrams (and any harness you would buy for these years) are 6 volt positivity ground. Most of the circuits are fine for 12 volt negative ground or easily modified, but you just need to keep it in mind. An example would be the starter circuit, I am using the pushbutton start to the starter solenoid. The original pushbutton is a ground to the solenoid and this needs to be modified. There are several sources for pre-fabed cloth covered harnesses.
Sacramento Vintage Ford makes a cloth covered OEM style universal harness, old school with a glass fuse, fuse box. It looks great! that would be the one I'd use on my next build. It is XL type modern plastic covered wiring with OEM wound cloth in factory colors.
