A while back I read some posts about what wiring harness' yall like to use. I don't remember what the brand everyone said was the best. Seems I remember that they were made by some guy who used to own a different company and sold it, but is making them again on his own. Any any help would be great. I'm rewiring my 63 chevy pick-up. Just looking for a universal one.
I was just going to ask about this actually. I went into the catalog (ei. street rooder mag)and saw EZ wiring kit sell two versions a 12 and a 21 ciruit for around 155-165, which is a good price for a wiring kit I just wondered if anyone here has used that brand and did it work for them? On you pickup you might just need a real basic one.
I've used teh EZ Wire ones. They're decent. I prefer the Ron Francis ones, but they're a little pricey. Painless wiring is also pretty good. The Ron Francis ones are usually made for your car/truck on an order basis. But for most applications the EZ Wire should do the job. Haven't really had any problems with them. And the price is right.
When I was working for a living I kept E-Z wireing kits in stock. I've probably installed more than 30 of them. They work very well "IF" you have key in column! They also work with the late in dash switch but have forgotten the exact year of that switch. If you cut the plastic plug off the kit to use with an early or universal switch it screws up the Acc. circut routing. That part is divided up inside the actual switch. One other thing they don't make very clear is to route the 10 agu. power lead through the amp meeter before the starter cylnoid. Other than that they are as the name implies E-Z to install. The only reason to use a 21 circuit is if you have power windows, door locks, air, cruze and so on. I have notes somewhere on the things I used to watch out for. If your interested P.M. me. They are also one of the most cost effective ones you can get. The Wizzard
I will be needing the info you have, also you mean I will not be able to use my stock ignition switch with this kit?
I think the one I remeber was the guy who used to own painless, but now does it himself. Anyways thanks for the info may get back with ya if I decide to go that way. I do have an in dash ignition though and planned to keep it.
EZ Wiring........biggest bang for your buck and just as good quality as other brands. I even used their Dolphin Gauges I was so impressed. Easy instructions (should you need them).

Not sure how this came back up? This post was from January. Decided to probably use qwikwire. Thanks for everyones help though.
