okay...time for youse guys to help out a little. first off...i hate wiring. got some new tail lights for my 63 gmc and there is a slight problem. the new lights have three wires...one red...one white and one brown but my old lights only have two wires. which wire gets left off? do two wires hook together? i hate wiring. don't want to just start connecting wires here and there and burn out the new lights. they are strip, smoked l.e.d. lights and they are mounting under the tailgate and they won't really show up until i step on the brakes or turn the lights on. a little help out there? did i mention that i HATE wiring? later dudes chuck
instructions? company name? part number? wild guess would have brown be tail light, red be turn/brake light, white be ground...but that's a wild guess.... and you should not be able to hurt them hooking them up wrong, LEDs only work one way (with + and - connected correctly), if you wire them the other way they just stay off.
Right, take the light to your 12 volt battery, and place one wire on negative (I'll guess brown), and the other two (one at a time) on positive. Does one wire provide a regular intensity light, and the other a bright light? No, shift to the left. Keep shifting to you figure it out, you'll get three tries.
