I am wiring my car from scratch, I have a wiring diagram almost ready to go but I need help with one little thing. I am running a flathead with a Procomp ignition box, I have a 4 terminal starter selinoid and I will be using a key switch and a push button starter.
I have 12v power to both switches.
My question is the push button starter switch, what terminal on the selinoid should it go to, the S or I terminal. Also since I am using an ignition box that supplies everything to the coil and distributor, do I need anthing connected to the other selinoid terminal?

  2. the s terminal, and no you do not need to hook the i terminal up.

  3. 12 volts into the S terminal will engage the starter solenoid.
You will have 12 volts out of the I terminal only while cranking. Used for ignition systems that require 12 volts start, 9 volts run.
