Technical Wiring Integrated Turn Signals

    I'm pretty sure a return is another way to say a path to ground without shorting, so some type of resistive load, otherwise, no current will flow.

    Yes. What returns mean is that a bulb, motor, gauges all need to have a return to vehicle ground. One side of a device is connected to +12v either directly or through a switch, the other side of the device (usually) goes to ground. In the case of the non powered converters, there are no such return to ground inside the converter. It is returned to ground via a bulb filament. The bulb MUST be off to return the converter to ground. In the case of the converter, either the left, right, or brake bulbs serve as a return. For the brakes, the left or right turn bulbs are the returns, and vice versa. Hope this helps.

    It use 3 SPDT relays, when the brake light is off, the turn signals are on with the vehicle turn signals. When the brake light is on, it flips it.
