Technical wiring sbc question

    battery bought painless kit purchased about to wire my 38 chevy with small block fitted.question I need a positive lead to the starter,battery under seat need approx. 4ft long lead.what size cable do I need.stock starter,stockish motor (flat top pistons 350 ci) thanks

    Number 2 gauge would be fine, and number 4 might work ok. Make sure to ground the negative battery terminal to the frame near the battery, and connect the engine block to the frame near the engine, with similar size wire.

    Do they sell wire by the normal US gauge sizes there? :)

  5. #2 wire is approx 6.5mm or 1/4" of the wire (not including insulation)

    thanks guys the wire gauge converter is the job.
