I am doing some wiring and ran into a symbol I can't find anywhere....can anyone tell me what it is...? It looks like a diode (triangle) but at the point it has a rectangle.....the fat end of the triangle goes to ground (battery neg actually)
K13, the speaker symbol looks like a rectangle with a cone on one side and a wire vertically through the rectangle
I'm trying to figure out how to copy the pic from my service manual I have saved....It's not cutting off the point and definately not a cigarette lighter...but I think I need it to get the ignition working.
Isn't that just special. I believe it is the altenator/regulator ground (rectified diode), why it is shown like that is a mystery - do you have LED turnsignals? Something along that line? How about MSD ignition? If you have msd with a 6al box then you need a diode in the altenator circuit - maybe that is an optional circuit for when you use MSD or some other similar type ignition system where it is on a keyed ignition switch. Then again, i am just guessing.
What does the other end go to? With one end grounded it could be some kind of a voltage regulating diode (zener diode).
I notice there's a matching symbol at the power side of the neutral switch. I had actually originally thought it was a symbol for a horn/siren, but that doesn't seem to be the case after reviewing your schematic. dj
Shhh I was hoping to find out what the symbol is before it got out and shut this thread down!!! It is still 12v wiring !!
Hmmm..that makes the most sense so far! I'll bet that's it...I am working with a butchered wiring system to wire it from scratch..Thank you.
Heh, it's just a fancy way of saying "diode used to rectify"... or more commonly, convert AC into DC.
you have another one on # 2... and # 8.......believe it is a symbol for a single snap together wire connector........
