well i bought a wiring harness, and i turn wrenches i dont mess around with wires. i thought that a harness would be alot easier than it is turning out to be. first threr are all kinds of wires i know im not going to need and there aint any instructions to boot. the wires are labeled but i need to know from the box where the horn button or turn signals or dome light go. for instance would the horn wire come out of the box go to my button and then from the button to the horn itself? please help
Horn Button, to Relay, then to horn...do you have a Fax machine I have some simple drawings......what brand of harness is it...I might have some instructions, I do ALOT of wiring......Horn Circuit is made to go to ground, that trips the relay, and applies power to the horn
thanks, but no i dont have a fax machine, the harness i bought on ebay from southern rods & parts. and i dont even know what a relay is. any more help would be greatly appreciated.
No fax machine and no knowledge of a relay? And you decided to take on rewriring a whole car. You need someone who knows what there doing in front of you to teach you. If you don't know the terminology, what we type on here is almost useless.
well the whole car is headlights tail lights blinkers. nothin i dont need. didnt think it would be too tough. first time for everything

A relay just converts electricity so your switches don't get overload damaged. Now I'm sure someone will respond to the exact science of the relay, but that's what it does in laymans terms.
A relay is just a switch. a low current flicks the switch inside the relay which makes the high current flow. like a starter motor relay - the bigass current goes from battery to starter motor without going through the small wires in your dash. man, thats harder to explain than i thought it would be. lol, here you go: http://home.howstuffworks.com/relay1.htm
