So I found this place on an indian reservation yesterday. The Dept. of Natural Resources told the owner that all of these cars had to go. He is in the process of crushing them, but will sell them for $200 each. There was a minimum of 300 cars from the 40's and 50's. It is on the Menominee Indian Reservation. He told me they must all be gone in about 2 months.
I've been there several times, and it's awesome. I almost never use that word. I believe the name of the road is HHH. It is just a bit OFF of the Menominee Nation reservation. North of Shawano lake , east of Keshena.
Yea, Porky 4, it's off of county road VV. This is one of those places that you always read about and think that they are full of shit and don't exsist. No, this place is real and I'm telling you there are at least 300 cars and trucks from the 40's and 50's. You should have seen my face when he said any car for $200.
I was there last summer, the guy who runs it is pretty weird, but he has some cool old Motorcycles also....I wish I had more room, but I cant fit any more projects
That's right in my figurative back yard. I bet the only reason there's suddenly a problem with it is yuppie neighbors who think it's an "eye sore." It doesn't look like he's brought new stuff in for quite a while, so any environmental damage has probably already been done.
seems the old boy liked mopars in the early fiftys. desotos, chyslers, plymouths, dodges too. all to be gone in 2 months . I think I'll just go to bed and cry myself to sleep! To paraphrase George Harrison"while my 1950 chrysler gently weeps" R.R.
I thought that the native americans could do just about anything they wanted on their reservations. That sure is an outdoor museum there. All they have to do is erect the sign. BTW my favorite is the the big rusty one where the guy is more interested in the Hudson than the car he has his ass against.
That guys a buddy of mine and he has his ass against a '46 hudson super six. He is looking for studebaker stuff. Ok here's how we got there. From Green Bay head north on 29 toward Shawano. Turn right onto 22 and go about 15 miles. Turn left on V toward Underhill and drive until the road stops and makes you turn left or right, turn left. Turn right on VV and drive only a couple miles and you will see an assload of classics on the left. I don't know what the place is called or the phone number. My buddy went back yesterday and said there were about 5 flatbeds out front loading cars. Better hurry.
I just heard about this place. i've got a friend going there today to check on a car for me. I'd like to get up there this week and get some stuff before it's all gone. Is this place called Berry Lake or Barry Lake or something like that?
For crying out loud! Why do these kind of "deals" always pop up somewhere else in the country? You Wisconsin boys have got it made if you act fast! Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy
jeeze loueeze... I could live for months just selling the parts from the row of 49-52 chevys I saw there. parted out a 53 4 door on ebay and got almost $3,000.00 and it was missing quite a bit to begin with. it's time consuming but it beats the hell out of working for "the man"
I am only about 5 hrs from there and I have vacation left. I would be very tempeted to go up there if I knew there was something that I wanted. any decent 54 chevy 2 door post cars?
Those poor cars are just trying to be one with the land, why do they have to take them? You guys better get out there quick! We want more pics, better yet, pics of all the stuff you saved!
Known about that place for years. Been there about 6-7 times a year. Not much left. No titles to the cars (burnt in a fire). Say hi to Daren if you go.
do you have the name of the yard, or an actual address? sending my dad on a mission to get all the good stuff...hahahaha..... pm or post here....thanks....
