saw an odd sight out of the corner of my eye in the parking of a fabric store and pulled in to invesigate, I saw a 58 jaguar sitting alone there with a flat tire. it had writing and names on it I didnt know what it was until the two owners pulled up and proceded to pull tools out of the back of thier audi and change the tire. Aparently they are in town for a race at willow springs raceway [road race] in rosamond this weekend, I heard about it on the radio going to be lots of classic trans am/road race, boss mustangs, cameros and 60's stuff too. they were from san diego and told me about a race down in mexico, the carrara race started in 50 something that they just were in. anyways I thought it was really cool to see somebody actually change a real knock off wheel with a brass hammer beating on the chrome spinner. would of made a cool pic.
Whats even funnyer is when they miss the spinner and bend a spoke. I saw somebody do that once, did not tell the Owner/ Driver and send him back on the track...
FWIW, I keep a cheap one use camera in my truck at all times, never know when you see something you might want to copy, or whatever reason. .Every 6 mo or so I have whatever film developed, helps my Alsheimer memory
Another good reason for a cheapie throw away camera in the glove box is for insurance purposes. It NEVER hurts your claim (Unless you are lying) if you have a roll of film to back up your story. It shows the insurance company that you are responsible and gives them evidence. I worked in Boston on "The Big Dig" for a couple of years and was the lucky SOB that had to deal with all of the insurance claims from people claiming our equipment ran them off the road and tossed a match on their car and laughed while they burned. (As you may have guessed, this is a dramatization). It is also nice to be able to call up the city when you hit a 10" deep pot hole and have pictures of the hole and tell them you next call is to your lawyer.
