My banger build, just getting started and parts I have so far:
    30 Model A 4 door.
No fenders, original axle dropped some, wishbones split and welded with a little camber. Still have original wishbone also. Banjo rear end with original bars bolting up to nice beefy brackets on the 5 speed ******. New spindles with juice brakes. F100 steering box. I am not going with cross steering.
Local older hot rod guys telling me he wouldn't split the bones.
Other options are whether or not to use the float a motor mounts. In my opinion this would make the whole setup a little springy if the bones were left attached to the ****** and flywheel housing with the rubber mounts.
I understand some reasons for splitting the bones is for installing larger engines. I am trying to **** up as much info as I can before I make the decision.
    what do you guys think?

I doubt by using the Float-A-Motor mounts that it will make your car a "little springy". I have been playing with Model A's since 1968 and have never heard that complaint. The only way to alter the Camber on a beam axle is to bend the axle. Wishbones wether split or stock will affect Caster.

Didn’t mean make the car springy
If front and rear bones are pushing against a engine and trans that are held to the frame by rubber donuts it seems that would not be as good a setup as pushing against a more solid mount on the frame

No sense splitting the wishbone if you are using the A motor.

Ok already, I wont split my wishbones. :) Thanks for the replies. My local old timers tell me the same thing. And they used to race these things. I don't know why I am so hung up on this? Sounds like the problems outweigh the gains.
