So last night I was fighting a bolt to pull the master cylinder out of our 49 Chevy car. She had comp***ion.
Tonight I was Cleaning up seat frames.
Chevy put these stupid staples through sheet metal and felt too hold seat fabric.
I was fighting getting these staples out.
Her comment tonight was "well it's your hobby"
    What does your wife say.

My wife will let me drive her down to Sonic on Saturday night for some ice cream once in a while and that's the only time she shows any interest whatsoever in anything that has to do with old cars. Of course I have no interest in anything to do with her hobby of gardening so I guess it all evens out in the end....

HaHa...ditto here. Bless her heart though, she does attempt to pretend there is an interest there occasionally.

I am not sure that my wife listens to me about anything at-all, let alone cars.

one day (of many) was under my Model A doing some detailing - wife comes out and asks what am I doing under there? I say detailing. she asks who is going to look under there. I said "people". she said that only road kill will ever see what I have done. I stopped detailing at that point and went for a ride looking for road kill.

I've always known I was lucky. My wife is not into hot rods as such but she loves me and will help and support me in the shop and even listen as I try to work through something. Too many times to count she has held a wrench on the other side of a firewall or held up the end of a fender while I got bolts started. She is a master at helping to watch for clearance when pulling or installing engines. When I don't need her in the shop she does her genealogy work in the office and will answer the phone or receive packages so I don't have to stop what I'm doing.

I know some wives aren't that great, but I hit the jackpot. She loves dogs too!

My wife and I reached an agreement many years ago; she does't fuss about my hobby, and/or the things I BUY that go along with it. BUT, when I SELL something, she gets the proceeds; she has made out very well quite a few times! Happy wife, happy life, as they say. She used to eagerly go to car events, races, and shows with me; I even got her on the drag strip at the All Ford Drags at Bremerton Raceway one year, and she had a better reaction time than I did. Now, she'd rather stay home and watch marathon, cop-type programming on TV all day. But, I always ask, just the same. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Mine has a decal in the p***enger side wing window of her car. " Psst, you just got p***ed by a girl". It's a couple years off topic, but I can live with that.

I had to go on a cruise ship to Alaska, take dance lessons, and drink wine. But then I get to go to Bonneville, sleep in a pick up, eat Mexican food, and drive over 200 mph in a Studebaker. Studebaker-away[1].jpeg Sounds like a trade to me...
