[IMG]Sorry, the reason I posted these was not to tell a story with dates, names, places etc..but to let the pics tell the story, you know the one youve already heard a million times before:race car gets built, gets raced, get retired.gets sold traded off, gets put away in a barn or destroyed,or restored....whatever you fill in the blank. What I do know about this car is that it was built and raced by the Cummins brothers from central Ala.,in the late 60's,and is still owned by Bubba Cummins, look at the pics, then to quote Rich"As Paul Harvey would say,now you know the rest of the story".....

My buddies meeting the same fate. When I asked him about selling it, all he will say is that I can't afford it. This one will start and run.

Not as cool as the Wompin Wagon but still..........

Im thinkin if the funds arent there to restore the Wompin Wagen, then leaving it lookin
like it does but getting it to run and drive safe would be just as cool. Its earned those paint chips.
That goes for the red one too.

That looks like the strip in Baileyton, AL. Not saying it is, just looks like it.

  30. Wow, thanks for sharing the pics/story, Kenny :)
THAT'S the kind of drag car I remember from when I was a kid  Sad, in a way, to see a Nomad cut up, but balanced out by it's purpose and history. Very cool.
And that shot of TWO nomads in the front yard...... Nobody thought much of somethin' like that back then, but you'd never see that today.
