Just a quick update...... I picked up one of the old Elgin manufactured Speed Pro L-79 cam and lifrer kits. Brand new, sitting on the guys shelf since the mid '60's. Popped it in along with my Manley pushrods. I need to pull one of the springs and run it over to the machine shop to have the pressure checked. I already had the 291, L-79 heads so the cam should be a decent match. The L-79's had 600 Holley single feeds to make 350 HP so My dual feed 650 should be okay for now. Busy as all hell every day so my time is pretty precious right now.

I'd love to find somebody who wanted to trade putty work for chassis work as I suck at Bondo. If anybody is interested shout out. The fellow who used to do it for me has medical issues so I'm at the disadvantage at the moment.

I have my seat ready to send over to Jerry, (Homemade Hardtop 57), for upholstery.

Just letting you guys know I haven't given up on making Fall Wildwood, ( for the fourteenth year in a row!).

Great job on the seat Jerry! Trying to get a little time in today to put the brackets on and get it fitted up properly. Jerry also gave me a much better grill shell so I'm going to swap that as well. Another buddy of is coming by for the old shell as he is in need of shell for his T. I did weld the old one up and dressed it so he is quite happy too. I'm running late in the year again for Wildwood so I'm Starting on the finish body work this week and with any luck it will be in Washington Blue before the cold weather sets in.

That looks great. Not enough '30-'31 shells used.

  11. Wow that is looking good Larry. I have not made any progress on my project. I just lost the drive right now. Been driving the 56 but thats about it. I really need you to chop the top on the new body but I want to wait till it is bolted down to the chassis. right now it is just sitting on it. Need to get over there one of these days.

Down to the wire here. I need to put front parking light/turn signals on. The ones I usually use are no longer available so I was thinking I could use the aftermarket '32 cowl lights with the amber lens. They seem to be backordered everywhere. My question is, what is everybody else using that doesn't look too out of place. I need standard bulbs, no LED to work with the rest of my stuff.

Everywhere I looked for nice looking turn signal assemblies came up with LED stuff so that is what I eventually used. Problem was getting them to work since they require so little power that things wouldn't work right; even with flashers made for LEDs. Ended up splicing in diodes to the lights and things finally worked like they should.

I used some older HD signals with dark lenses. IMG_2862.jpg

The results of an insane amount of time scribing and fitting the hood and replacing the grill shell with one I was given by Jerry at Laboranti Upholstery. Body lines look really nice. Working on the door gaps now. Loads of detail being finished including my windshield frame that I've been avoiding for a long time.
