IHRA knows they made a huge mistake when they moved it to Memphis. It's the oldest continuously run drag race in the country. WSDR #64 is August 25-27. I hope it works out but they were stupid for moving it.
IHRA just doesn't get it . At least they corrected this mistake. Hot Rod Drag week will be there this year. But even better, wednesday at Byron.
The saga of WSDR is getting very interesting. When the IHRA moved the event to Memphis last year, the first time in its 60 year history, legendary Funny Car racer Ron Colson registered the World Series of Drag Racing name which had evidently never been done. Speculation is that he would bring the historic event back to Cordova which is near his home. But now that the IHRA has announced they will move the event BACK to Cordova, which is one of the drag strips they own, Colson has issued a cease and desist order from using the name. Interesting indeed on how this will play out.
We loved Cordova, we won A/fuel there in 07. Always had a great time. Hope they get it sorted out. Lippy
frank how about flying out and taking in the action. i will meet you there I'm sure you would enjoy it. some tracks put on a show without too much action. the series has non stop action all day and all night. its really something. the fans get their monies worth.
