whoever posted the pic of 'the worlds coolest hood ornament'... Just saw it in one of my books.... Tis a 1928 Chevrolet aparently.... =] MAIKI
Mai KiKi....That would be me. Not what I expected but it's still cool. Did your book give any info? Thanks, Clark
Sowhat It's hell cool..Fraid no more info, strictly a pictorial book with only general txt... Cheers MAIKI
It was fun trying to figure out what it is. Nobody was close. Some body did say Buick. With never seing one before I would have thought it would be rare. I'm still gonna have to build a car arround it someday. Thaks again Clark
HAHA Brootal thats ****in funny! Pics of gleaming rear view mirror on car coming!!!! I promise! MAIKI
A little O/T but the coolest hood ornament I have seen was on a '34 Ford coupe. It was a naked woman laying on her back with her legs spread. She was using the 'V8' as an insertion device............if you know what I mean. Wish I could find one (the ornament I mean).
I tried finding one of these actually on a 1928 Chevrolet, and all the ones I have seen on the net had a plain cap, or a motometer cap. Perhaps this was an upgrade on the '28
Elrod...I had never seen one like this before. I had seen plenty of ones I liked. Buick had one with an 8 with wings coming off it wich I like and saw several of but didn't like the prices. Same thing with the one the roadster.com guy has seen a couple but didn't like the price. This is the only one like this I saw. I did see one with an Iron Cross on it I liked but $400 was way out of my price range. Clark
Mike! That is the hood ornament I described. Looks like the same car but it was here in Ontario. Any info on how I could find one?
I don't have a clue where to find one Al. I stumbled onto the picture earlier this year, probably here on the HAMB. I've a file of hood ornament pictures so I saved it. mike
I have a 28 Chevy and it came with a flat cap. that one must have been an accessory. I would love to find one.
Yeah, I have a picture of the "V8 damsel" hood ornament, I took it in Syracuse back around '95 or so. No idea who owns the car, but its a real old-time roadster, black, channeled a bunch, w/ a home-made grille made of bent rod or tubing. Dang, I'm gonna hafta get a scanner one of these days.
