If you know how, the DVD is available online now ;) Since it was limited release in theaters, it was the only way I could make sure I knew I wanted to buy it. I watched it last night and it's awesome. Now I gotta get back to the yard to work on my heap...

I used to live in Invercargill, (living back in Australia now) and must say there's a thriving vintage car/hot rod scene going on there. Went & saw the movie a couple of weeks ago, & spent a fair-bit of time checking out the backgrounds for people I know. Funniest one is the cheesy guy who's always just over someone's shoulder with the big grin. He's the real-life mayor & is exactly like that in person.

Yup give Tim a role and get the keys to the city :) I just watched it again on DVD at the weekend, only complaint was the lack of extra features on the DVD for guys like us there could have been heaps of stuff to put on there.

Maybe if they sell a few DVD's they will realize the "limited release" cost them a bunch of $$$ here in the states. Moepower and I drove 500 miles to see it....

oh good i forgot all about that movie.
havent watched a whole movie for a couple years now. but i wanted to see that one. 'GOOD REMINDER!'

SPEAKING OF MOVIES... someone watch 2 lane blacktop, write down the changes that need to be made (more cars, more racing, less lame broad walking through the pits when there are real killer machines to see etc etc...) maybe get kid rock to drive with some other famous long hair to do the tuning, with Donna from that 70s show can be the broad that had her legs straight up for both guys.
then drive over to universal studios or wherever & kick the fukin gate in & go see a good producer & tell them you are here to make-remake a the movie 2-lane blacktop! - you'll get rich & ill watch the movie along with every other car guy in the world! :D

Worlds Fastest Indian was in Fresno today. They had the bike at Danny Rouits museum here today for the annual barbque. Sure is a beautiful piece. They had the left side fairing off so you could see all the bike.

So will it be sold in normal DVD stores like BestBuy/Target/etc or do you have to order it from some abstract DVD website?

This is one in which seeing the real movie is a must for the huge sweep of Bonneville, if nothing else. I can't imagine Bonneville fitting on a TV well...
but I want the DVD so I can stop the action and see all the neat machinery that flits through the background in the blink on an eye, especially in the salt sections! A-V8 and Tardel did an amazing job of recreating 1962!
I agree that the limited release was a mistake...this film would have taken off. It was good enough to keep non-gearheads happy, and of course it is gearhead heaven...
I wish I could find some better info on the bike's history of modification and tech on all the neat stuff (really, most of the engine) the owner made in that little shop!

This book is well worth a read to fill in the gaps that the movie left out ...

Thanks--I did some searching, and found another as well, I'm going to track some used sources and get both. Dang--I'm a librarian and book hunter, and somebody had to remind me to go look for some books! Bruce

  27. How about any of the Enzed Hambers? Anybody remember this guy? I have an aquaintance from Dunedin who supposedly knew Bert Munro. There are SO many stories about this guy. Some of them might even be true....
