Thanks for all the replies guys I have to say I have it narrowed down.... The on ethat HAYDUKE posted or one drawn by ZOMBIE- (thanks decayed40 for pointing it out!)

The one Hayduke posted is exactly what I was looking for, but the one drawn by Zombie it REALLY COOL! I'll keep you posted on which one I go with.

    heres my "worn out" wagon..

I was going to post an update as I have everything except the roof and the rear upper gate "finished" and ready for sanding etc now..

I am using a Tubular inner structure as others have suggested.. (even though my car was a woodie originally it was in poor shape..

I have often thought about building a model a wagon in the same style.. and have even had all the necessary "stuff" in my posession several times.

I just dont care for little cars like model a's..

    Joe. I like that design..

    cant wait to see it..

Make you a strong structure and than find an old Barn that you can get the aged wood from. That is what I am going to use for a bed cover on my 34 P/U.

Just find a back of a A-body, its not tough.

    Atleast you have doors.

I've got a '32 Chevy Cowl, '32 doors from a sedan, two upper roof/window pieces of a '32, a '34 Pick Up cowl, and the back of an fourdoor model A, some a-pillars and top portion of a model A.

But really, none of it is too compatible, its going to take alot of metal work to put it all together (one day)

I find all sorts of 40-'46 truck cowls (or whole trucks where that is all thats usable) and think that it would be an interesting thing to do with them-fenders or not. My older cousin does wood work, it could be arranged, but I don't have the time or interest to do anything like that.

An idea though, but what you've got looks usable enough to make a complete steel body.

Rodding and Restyling magazine (August 1959 I think) has a cool, hemi powered, chopped and channeled deuce woody on the cover and a 2 page article inside. It was scratchbuilt by the owner using a gennie deuce woody cowl, and used for drag racing in the late 50's!

There was another deuce woody built in the early 60's I'm sure, but I've never been able to find the magazine. It was called 'the surf wagon' and it was a chopped and channeled scratchbuilt body with 'Corvette' pwer, bobbed rear fenders and no front ones. From vague memory it even had a 'pocket' inside the roof to store mailbu surfboards.

If anyone knows this particular car, or the magazine, I'm planning a similar project, only A model, so please let me know too!

    Cheers, Glen.

I'm with Jeem. All that work to make it p*** for a P.O.S. ? Do it right and let it age naturally. Patina is earned not made or bought.

Its actually alot rougher than it looks in the picks. One door is basically shot the other isnt far off- Luckily I already had another set althought not much better. The tank sides are rusted out and the lower portions are almost not there. I've actually considered using it as a template to make a new one from scratch. We'll see. Im waiting to hear back on a few other parts I need then I'll actually lay out the whole plan for this one.
