Man, this like group therapy. I had a Triumph Thunderbird bobber with a peapod tank, Bates seat, pipes, etc. that my kid brother and I had flogged for a couple of years until both of were shredded, me with stitches in my hands and a suit of road rash, and him with a broken arm, and we were still jumping 5 strand barbed wire fences with after seeing Bud Ekins stunting for Steve McQueen in The Great Escape . In a moment of pure insanity I traded it for a '53 Chevy two-door with an el sicko motor that I then exchanged for a rebuilt one in an all nighter and went out and rolled it over in a long curve three times because one of the crappy tires on it blew out. The doors wouldn't even open, and I ended up slamming it into the brick wall of a burned out building playing stunt man. Some stuff you get just turns to crap, and the only thing you can do is try and keep on keeping on. I still trade and have manged to amaze myself with my own gullibility but that one is a bonafide boner. I cringe when I think of it. Part of it comes from fatigue. You get bored and want something else. Sometimes you eat the bear, like they say, and sometimes the bear eats you.

Traded my 69 390 Go Pack Javelin for a 250 Yamaha enduro. I was 17 and my dad also thought it was a bad deal so he kicked me out! Rode the bike until it got too cold and traded it for a cherry 68 Cougar out of New Mexico. The guy that took the bike rode it once and got pulled over for no bike endorsement which cost him his license. I want both cars back now!

  3. I traded my $1000 for a reman 350 chevy motor with 3 snapped bolts in it that was supposedly an edelbrock crate motor with 3000 miles on it. Long story and bought site unseen because of a friend who swore this fucker was honest. Never again.

My 455 powered 65 skylark for $3500 is easing my pain now.

I traded off a very straight and solid 57 Pontiac Starchief two door hardtop minus engine and trans because my wife thought it was "too ugly". I even had a fresh Pontiac 400 and turbo 400 to go in it at the time.

Worse part was she saw one just like it a couple of years later that was finished out almost exactly the same as I was going to do that one an exclaimed to my buddy and I that "wow, that is such a pretty car".

A Whitey Ford card for a Gary Sheffield rookie card. I thought it was a good trade but my mom didn't so I had to go trade back. Good thing my friend was just as young and dumb as I was. Good thing the players decided to strike too or I would've NEVER got THIS into cars.:p

In 1993 I traded a complete grabber blue Boss 302 for 4500.00 and a paint job on my 68 Hemi RT Charger. 6 Months later I sold him the Hemi too (13k), wiping out the paint job part of the deal.

1957 Fairlane twodoor HT 312, 3X2's on an Edelbrock intake, 3 on the floor, T Bird cast valve covers. Rear main started leakin and I traded it for a Honda Super 90. What an idiot. Of course this was in 1968. Still not a good trade!
