I was wanting to get some input on what you guys think about this. Does a 426 hemi look to big sitting in a 30-34 ford pu? The only thing i could find was a coupe with one and it looks pretty good from the angle the picture was taken. I just wondered if it would dewarf the truck? If anyones got a picture please post it.

    thanks

  4. Who cares? The spark plugs are right where God intended them to be. That's all that matters.

Do it. I said DO IT!

  5. Wait a minute! Is this a trick question like a woman asking "Do these pants make my **** look fat?"

A motor in a hot rod being too big... is that possible? It would only be cooler in my opinion.

the engine isn't too big, the truck is too small. if you put in a 318 it would be perfect.

Yes. Isn't that the point? Remember, if some is good then more must be better, and too much is just about right.

  13. The starter and the oil pump really get in the way on a big block mopar. Header clearance isn't an issue, because the ports point down instead of out to the side like other motors. With a remote oil filter and cross steer it would work out pretty good. David

Ever see Big Al? It was a 34 sedan with an Allison V-12 and that wasn't too big. Made for a funny place to drive from but that was good, too.

I think the combination of a Allison in a '34 2dr aka "Big Al" answered once and for all the question about an engine being too big for a particular car. Build it, post pictures and ask the question again.

You're joking, right? That's kinda like saying "My ***** is too big and it makes it hard to ride a bike. What should I do?"

A hoodless 30's Ford pickup would be the perfect display for that engine. I'd like to see it painted orange with black valve covers and a stock air cleaner, just like it was pulled from a Coronet last week, would look real sweet.

A GOOD friend of mine had a 426 hemi in a Model A coupe....
I thought it looked just right.
The big block ford that's in there now looks kinda small in comparison.
