LOL, if it's advertised, odds are someone here has seen it or knows who owns it.

didn't someone make a gl*** T body in the '60's? you could always change it to steel later if you wanted, or for that matter even stretch it for a bigger body.

It's not on craigslist that I can find... I found it on another car site I frequent.

I've only seen it advertised a few places.
One ad says frame is only mocked up and needs finish welded.

Yes, the ad I saw repeated that about the welding... No fear there cuz I have a welder and know how to use it... No brake lines or driveshaft yet either.

Sounds to me like you will be getting somebody else's **** that they want to bail from. Why not just start from SCRATCH and that way YOU can decide what YOU want......

You're currently without a rod. You want one. Money is an object, but this one is within your grasp. I say you're crazy if you DON'T get it.

Don't worry about the gl***- the first guy from the HAMB that I met in person has one of the coolest looking 'gl*** T Buckets you'll ever see.

Just finish it out with an eye toward making it so you can park it in a line with ten other T buckets and it will still stand out. The 318 and those wires in front have you on that road already.

But those wheels on the back. Damn! The only other car I've seen with wheels that are more wrong is...my Chevy.

I keep envisioning a '50s style bucket with body-colored steelies, white walls, painted grille shell and baby moons. Ain't one like that around where I live at all.

To the previous poster about taking on someone else's ****, been there, done that, more than once... including my '71 RR pictured. (sorry for the OT post guys!)

I've considered a t-bucket before and would want it to be Mopar powered, so it's not different from what I would build if I was starting from scratch.

Looks like it is worth it to me! Nothing wrong with buckets in my opinion!

  14. from one moparts member to another , the T is a cool START if it was more complete id say go for it but as is id try to get it down closer to 3K

im not sure (having never owned a T myself) but that rear crossmember looks a little questionable

the T would be awesome with a big wedge in it (especailly supercharged)

just how big of an object is the money? im just asking because you might be able to find something else thats closer to being done for a few more dollars
times are tough all over right now and everyone whos *** -up money wise will be starting to try to unload thier projects now that most are starting to recieve tax refund checks .. jkust a thought

the wagon wheels HAVE TO GO
and a 83/4 would look soo much better then whats in it.. 81/4?

and still love your 71 runner

I've seen one's that were closer to completion for less and one's that are worse off than that one for way more. The market seems to vary.
The price isn't that bad, but it could be depending on the actual condition when you check it out. The frame seems questionable. I never like to hear "mocked up" (usually means this is as close as I can get it). If the motor, body and misc. is worth 3.5 to you, I say go for it. If you think you can fab up a frame, or save that one, then you should be in the clear. Most hot-rod horror stories I've heard or seen center around garage built frames...

Thanks, that's exactly the kind of experienced input I was hoping for. $3500 is a starting point (for him), I'd expect to offer less... but who knows what he would take.

How big of object is $$$? Everything I do is on a shoestring and by trial and error and usually doing it wrong myself over and over until I get it right. :D

Thanks for the props on my Runner. It was apart 5 years too long and I'm enjoying the heck out of having it back together!

Stevechaos hits it well. I think if the drivetrain mounts are done right, & the suspension setup is sound, it would work out. Otherwise you'd be better off gathering parts and build what you dreamed of.

Speaking of Mopar-powered rods, I even sketched up this slant 6 powered track roadster... :)

I'm sort of questioning that deal a little. Since the frame needs to be "welded" I question how well it's built. I know I would be tearing it apart and shortening things up and making it as compact and proportionate as possible. Since you would be at that point and you know that things are probably done wrong I think at 3500 you may be able to hit that price point on your own with more period correct parts so you could get that 50's look you said you were after.

There's maybe 150$ worth of steel there for a frame.
    600-900$ for a gl*** bucket.
    300-500$ For a small block
With some parts hunting you could grab rearend, brakes, wishbones, spindles, springs.. etc..and pretty soon youre' past the 3500$ mark but not so much that you wished you bought that other thing. Just a different point of view to think of...

And if that's the case then I'd rather save up and build what I sketched above... :) How much more room do you have in a '29 than in a t-bucket?

Well, it looks like you are more into 28/29 ford rdster's with a track nose?

If that is the case " being thats what your vision was in the drawing" you
will probably never really be happy with a T bucket. If your willing to go
$3500.00 for the one your looking at, maybe you could start gathering
parts that you really want, cause 3500.00 will go a ways toward what you
really want and you won't be taking the chance of having to redo someone else's
screw up and still not what you want.

    just my 2 pennies

Heightwise...you're on top of a T, you ride on an A, and you're in a Deuce.

    Glad to help.
I've been in the market for a bucket much like you described earlier for some time now, and I have yet to come up with the scratch to buy one.
I saw that project too, but 3500 is steep in my opinion unless that's a really solid motor. The guys pictures ****. I tried to blow the one of the rear end up, and it get's grainy, but it definately looks like like it's jacked up. the rear crossmember section above the differential is crooked, and doesn't look square at all. Looks like the whole rear frame is tweaked to the p***enger side.

And I think that 3rd member is a mopar 7-1/4... he would have been SO much better off finding an 8-3/4.

Go for it and do not worry about what anyone else thinks. We have several buckets show up on cruise night here in Benton and they all look like they are having a good time. I believe there was a bucket get together somewhere in the area (central or southern Illinois ) and there was quite a few attending and they drove from some far distances.
