I've been trying to find the owner of this Volks-Rod. Pictured below, in the rather amusing stance Gil took, for the CHP, when Q'd on "the weight"... :D.
    Finally featured in a HRM/R&C Spl, 1977.
VolksRod was built in 1971, was for sale in late 90's.
Since it seems my search skills *really* suck...
His name is Gil Ferreira, lives in San Jose CA - or did.
Anybody know him, that could/would PM contact details?
I'm guessing he's ~ 75-80 y/o. I'd like to find out more about the car.
He used to own a seriously righteous '29 roadster, too, but this is the one that interests me at the moment.

    TIA.

    Marcus...

Gil is no longer with us, he passed in '95.
The V-Rod was one of 4 built by Kent Fuller (yes, THE Kent Fuller) when Kent was in Scotts Valley, west of San Jose)
Gil's had a low buck 1957 VW 'crash box', (non synchro low) and a stock 1600 VW engine. Tom Medley had the second one, and Elliott had the 3rd. (Elliott had a VW shop in Los Gatos, and Gil was employed by him)

Kent Fuller's was the best of the bunch...his had a Porsche 356 Super 90, wheelstander galore.
Jack Hagamann Sr. did all the aluminum hoods, when he was in Fremont.

Gil sold his V-Rod to finish his '29 roadster in time for Blackie Gejian's show in Fresno.
I believe that was in 1975-76.
Famed Swapmeet guru Jack Stanley bought the V-Rod, I went to the Roadster Roundup with him in '77 (?) Long time ago...
We were going south toward Santa Maria at the rear of the pack with the Bay Area Roadsters, they all stopped for gas and we drove right by, honking...(35 MPG)
    Much laughter...

Jack sold the V-Rod sometime around 1986, to finish his flawless '32 Five window.
My son Rich saw the V-Rod at 'Kelly Park', at an outdoor car show...(1997) It was still the same color, for sale. Not bad condition, same tires on it!
Guy was asking $2K, no takers. Rich almost bought it, really a super deal!
Dipshit tire kickers had no idea what it was.

It's still in the San Jose area...
