Not my cup of tea but not a POS either. It is something the original owner/builder put a lot of time in.

  4. X2 ... That was going to be my point. It is obvious that a lot of time and money have been spent on doing the car, but it isn't the first time a lot of money has been spent on a dream that turned out to be a nightmare.
Styling, is in the eye of the beholder, if a person liked it every day they were building it, who am I to judge. I would want a car that is structurally sound, but I think we have all seen mistakes like this.

I believe the symbol on the glove box is Japanese for "shitbox".

    Idea had merit.
    Execution was poor.

If it was actually in Chicago, I'd say it was influenced by Voodoo Larry. It looks like something of his style.

The zip ties did it for me.
Primer, that work looks awful rough under there and from pretty far away pics......I'm thinking how Model T Heaven does it....where spray primer is a classic in a can.

Well I like it! Those of you who worry about the frame have never seen a late 40's, early 50's Buick frame.
They have a giant X in the middle and used almost the same frame for all body styles, including the converts. Basic body on this one looks like a 1950, with the rear fender/tail lights from a 1949 grafted on it. Carson top, what's not to like? It's just not finished.

    [QUOTE=", what's not to like?
Well ... the doors are too short. The fake pipes. The bathtub looking ring around the interior. The skirts. If it runs, whaddya want to bet it's got a 350 Chev in it ?

It's an unfinished custom. I can't tell from where I'm sitting whether it's getting unfinisheder or finisheder.

Whenever I see a car with the roof cut off, I think "oh look, somebody blew it on the chop and cut the roof off a car!"

That may or may not be correct, and the inspection of work remaining can usually confirm the validity of the initial thought. I didn't look at the other photos of this car, but based on the info on this thread, there is room for doubt.

I was curious and looked up the number and it came back for bird's nest nightclub( seems to be previous?) and bird's nest machine tools(seems to be now?), same address. So I can understand if alcohol was involved in same way but I still think it has potential

Not a total POS, more like a POSer. Like every gasser has to have a nosebleed stance and straight axle, every custom has to have a Carson top, T-Bird seats, primer, over-sized skirts and more. Remove a 1/2 dozen gotta-have-it items and it's closer to truth.

It has potential, but believe it or not, the 6x9s on the back dash in "this" car is the first thing that turns me of about it:D
The top could have a better flowing design for my taste too but I kind of like the car.

  25. My momma thought I was cute, even though I had a face that would make Quasimodo shudder. Somebody worked hard on that car, I'll take it over 99% of the cars on the road.

I'd like to know where he got the naked lady hubcaps! Everyone's truck has naked lady mud flaps but this is different.
Without the hubcaps, it is a POS.
