    :D

It has cooled down a little here in the Southland so I have been playing with the 32 3W a little.

Deciding on which 32 frame to use, which is the better gas tank and going thru some old Deuce parts.......most likely will sell off a lot of what I do not use.....this will be my last 32....... (unless I get that low mile original Vicky ...... :) )

if there's no rain, it is the best time to start with the "hard & heavy" work
    --looks great
you are a poor poor boy not to know witch frame to use :D :D

  3. In true "hot rodder" style, I like it even better in pieces than I did when it was together.

This is going to be a killer car.

I'd call that progress, the best kind.
you're right at the time when the exitement is an all time high with planning, engineering and dreaming of your next step and the final outcome.
I Decided not to go the 34 route. The garage took priority over the higher price I was willing to pay so I found another 34. .......Pickup...that is. :D
You mentioned this is your last one....now if you get tired of building them let me know and I'll gladly finish one for you.:)

All of those parts look to be about 15yrs old! Amazing. I bet you really had to shell out some dough for all that. :D

And yes sir, blowing it apart definitely IS progress! Keep us posted, you know how much everyone loves 3Ws.

can you eat 32's......they sure look yummy........

if, by chance, you have an extra 32 brake pedal (just the pedal down to the mechanical brake lever), let me know....I got a set that someone had cut it off.....been meaning to do a WTB...

  10. I know I shouldn't notice things like this but I thought you cut down all the trees behind your house! HRP

Well.....one ( the one close to the body ) has been cut on....and welded on a lot...and the original one ........while virginal......is pitted deeply where the fenders attach.

Do I repair all the HOT ROD TORCH damge to the 3W frame or take apart a pretty good original 32 frame and modify the poo out of it and just use the side rails ........that is my problem. All I need is a good set of side rails and I will NOT use repros..

I know where a real nice non pitted 32 original bare frame is but the guy is just holding on to it ( since about 1988 ).....his has nothing bolted to it.......and he wants mine with the stock stuff........so I have been trying to work a trade... :D I have to do something fairly soon. All my new suspension parts and pieces are due in here anyday now...and I want to drive this coupe next summer so I cannot be fooling around...

I cut down 100 feet X 150 feet in back of the shop......and still have plenty of trees.....

Still have another couple hundred left.......trying to save them as a buffer area....

ok - understand your "problem" ---I had to use repros on my roadster (couldn't find some over here) --- of course the trade would work fine for yea - but is it that hard to repair the 3w's rails?? - can't see it exactly on that pic

It would not be all that difficult to use the 3W's frame....and I would if none other were available to me........It is modified to take a OHV engine and the K member is cut up pretty bad. It has leaf springs for a 9 inch 57 Ford in the rear. It is almost a shame to cut the frame apart.......I most likely will sell the frame to someone who needs a set like they are......and use the virginal original frame rails.........and then sell the rest of the 32 original type suspension, nice uncut crossmembers and such off.....

And Yes Clark........I will be in Daytona.....have not missed in 20 years...might have to BUY SOMETHING to drive....the Roadster is not the best thing to ride in at the end of November....but I have.... :)

randy, just pull the roadster body off and drop the coupe body on, use the seat and other items from the roadster and just go. patina and all. (with nice fenders)..

Randy, I've got a similar problem only mine is on my '32 5w. My origional plan was to keep as much origional as possible and just modify the frame to put in the '67 435hp 427/ doug Nash 5spd/quickchange. After considering how much it's going to take to acomplish this I ALMOST don't have the heart to cut up such a pristine origional. It would make such a nice foundation for the '32 pickup with a flattie. I've got several frames in various stages of disrepair that would make excellent candidates for this project but the thought of breaking up an origional set (body/frame/fenders/gas tank/grille/shell/hood/everything but the origional engine) makes me pause as I know I'll never have such a combination again. I always thought it would be neat to say it's all the way Henry built it, it just got tired and needed a heart transplant. Oh well, if I don't decide soon I'll be dead and my son can make the call. I've only been contiplating this for 30 years, why get in a rush? :)
