I believe that y'all should be using the past tense, there wojojo. This was fngbumped.

Having said that, I was too late to buy my car - it was gone already.

Turns out the guy that bought it changed his mind, and I snagged it from him instead.

  3. I have been turned down more than not, but it never hurts to ask. Make sure you have a few hundred with you that way if they do decide to sell it, you can hold it until you return with the agreed amount. I have inquired about cars that my buddies said they asked about, but they were told they would never be sold. I have caught the owner at the right time and mood, and bought them. My buddies can't believe it, but right time, right place, and the way you approach makes all the difference in the world.

  4. I remember reading about this in the paper a while ago ... young lad knocks on door, then is grabbed and held captive by 5 blonde swedish airline stewardesses/m***age the******s ... he was finally located by the police ... but then refused to allow the police to free him. This clearly explains why the post was never updated by the OP.

Turns out the old car in the driveway was used to lure the unsuspecting lad ...

Sorry, no time to chat ... gonna go knock on some doors myself :):D:rolleyes::eek:

I was looking for a '55 Pontiac a long time ago. While on patrol, there was a '55 Pontiac in the neighborhood, that was covered. The wind happened to blow the cover up so I could see it was a '55 Pontiac. I told my partner, "That's the kind of car I want to get someday". He suggested we stop and ask. I said no, since it's covered, he's probably working on it. A few years later, I was called to the neighbors house over a vandalism incident. We got to talking about cars, so he took me over to the neighbor's house to look at the Pontiac. It was in the garage looking like a fresh restoration. I asked the owner if it was the same car that was under a cover a couple of years back. He said no, he bought it as a parts car but didn't need it so he sold it. It was a running and driving car. He said he sold it for $1500. Boy, was I bummed for not asking..........

I drove by an early 60s Chev 2 door that just kept calling my name every Thursday. Finally I said to my son I'm gonna stop and ask about it this week. Pulled around the corner that Thursday and it was gone. Now every time I drive down that street I look for someone in the neighborhood to kick my ***.

When we were in our 20s, a friend of mine, when he had had "a few" at a bar, would walk up to the chick that caught his eye and say, "Wanna ****?" Nine out of ten would say no, or slap him.

    Yep! 9 out of 10

    ;)
