[ QUOTE ] People bashing the SBC are starting to sound and act like sheep... one following the other. [/ QUOTE ] LOL- thats some funny **** Sam. People bashing the one engine that it would seem almost everyone runs, but the anti-SBC guys are acting "like sheep"? I would consider running a SBC just like painting your car flat black w/ red wheels- y'know, might as well... everyone else is doing it. I've seen & read alot of your posts Sam. You cut more talent off your fingernails last time you trimmed them than I'll ever have. But the SBC is way overdone & people need to realize more engines are out there & just as capable of what the SBC is capable of. Wow, Clark- you coulda posted about that A that gets everyone going & had less contraversy!
Hell if you are concerned about telling the folks who bang ya about ruinning a SBF because it is a newer engine, tell 'em it is a 221 out of a '62 Fairlane. That'll make 'em shut up. Probably not, but it sounded good.....
I'd run a Windsor with Cleveland heads. Boss 302 style. They haul ***. Stock Windsor exhuast ports are too damn small for me. Clevelands don't have that problem... Scotch~!
You are the one that has to drive it. The price is right, **** go for it. That gives you cash for something else.
I agree with you Scotch! I'm going with a 351W with Cleveland heads in my G***er project! I'm building the engine Ford should have built!
did i miss this or has anyone forgot to mention the ford motor has he distributor in the front so you can burry the motor into the fire wall? 302's are snappy as hell and usually cheaper to find hop up parts for since every body wants sbc stuff. intakes, valve covers, crab style distributors and so on. by the way the motor steve used in the rodder's journal photo shoot regarding sbf's was mine. pre '94 5.0 motors rule. 5 speed and a.o.d. trannies all day long. i have a 283 chevy in my 31 roadster because that's what it came with so i'm not prejiduce, but to take sides for any reason but cost? racer's motto--- **** it run it.
