I love the blacksmiths sedan made coupe. Honestly the car that made me fall in love with that body style.
the guy wants 250 for it, and I think thats a stretch a bit but I'm gonna loo at it if he still has it.
$250.00? I'd be all over that. prolly sell what is good off it and make a grand. hell I got $75.00 for a frickin ashtray from a 36. if there is a usable part there, someone on ebay is looking for it right now.
If that were in New England it would be in my garage. Kansas messed up is not nearly as bad as New England messed up. 36 ford, for the right money=no brainer.
Maybe i'll portapower it, red wheels, mazda 6 banger, cut a 5 gallon bucket in half to make 2 seats, throw a beer keg in the trunk for fuel and off a rattin I'll go. hahaha
Jim Sibley would have that thing in primer in 3 weeks. 8) I'd say grab it, if you decide it's too much to take on, part it out for your $$ back, and the rest towards another project (In my house, they are called "Model T dollars"....anything I can scrounge, save, and sell, goes into the Model T Fund...
i would buy thhe headlights or whats left of them off of you for the "right price". i have a couple of model a doors that are just a little to rough to mess with, but in 10, 15.... years who knows. stuffs getting hard to find. chopp it up now and you will make your money back. roll the dice and hold on to it you could make a good profit in a few years. i would do it, man its a 36 ford.
I know this sounds overly optimistic, but even in its current state, I would want to make an attempt at a carson top roadster.
Go for it!! Who knows, you might eventually make an appearance on an episode of "Hoarders". I'm sure there is lots of fellas on here would come to your rescue if you needed counselling or just a hand to throw it out!!
You should see the peice of **** 36 Tudor body I have....when I look at it I see a chopped tail dragger 40,s style 3 window sled, go for it, you will have the hardest parts to find, the *** end of a coupe...you can make whatever you want from those humble beginings Now go get the damn thing!!
I remember being awed by that guy's skill and determination. I think he must have had some sort of Nordic wizard helping him along. That's the only explanation I can think of after seeing the before and after pictures.
I'm not looking at the article right now, but I did less than a month ago and even beyond his ability to create that machine is the fact that he did it in something 8 or 9 months. That's some determination and skill that I'll probably never possess.
By the looks of it, depends on the amount/degree of pitting on those back-end panels, really. Something that´s up to You to inspect in person. ***uming it can be had within any reasonable means, I´d say it´d be worth Your while to at least drag it out of there. Even if it turns out not to be the right project for Yourself, it could still serve a purpose as someone else´s project or even parts car as opposed to mere potential crusher-feed as it sits now.
Perhaps the way to look at it is even if you can't save it, better you get it and part it out, than see it on the back of a truck next week headed to the crusher.
if u have the skills , go 4 it . I mean nothing is cooler than a nicely finished car and then u show picture book and say .... i did it out of this.
You could take the top off cuting just about the swage, reinforce the body using box section as an internal frame, toss the fenders and build it old style hiboy hot rod.
To fix that right, you better plan on living a long, long, long time. But on the lighter side, look at all the exercise you'll get both mentally and physically.

250 $ is 'for free' if it's for a 5 window 36 in my opinion, leave it there should be a crime. If it was in Europe we would fight for it.
What body parts do a 5 window and a 4 door sedan have in common? I have a nice cowl and rear section.
