The Lincoln, regardless of condition will still just be an old car with 4 doors that my grandfather would have driven, The Bird can be a very cool Custom, the Lincoln never will be. It's obviously your call, but I'd trade .....
'Birds are nice, but that Lincoln is just dripping '50's elegance and coolness. You should do whatever YOU want....but if it were mine, that Lincoln would be a keeper. Mart3406 =========================
My vote is for the Linclon also, the question is: Which one do you want the most? Your the one who has to drive it, your the one who has to listen to your wife if you make the wrong choice. Go with your gut.
Too bad the Lincoln's a sedan. 4dr HT would be way kooler. Sure the Lincoln is rare, but it's like a Cadillac sedan Not a real "keeper" unless it's got family ties. Could you do something with it? Yes if you're so inclined and have the ability/funding to pull it off. The 'Bird, always a popular car. Always easy to sell. Gotta be worth more. Why are you in it? Fun? Investment? Something to build on? All of the above? The technical answer will be the 'Bird. The aesthetics answer will also be the 'Bird. Imagination and rarity, the nod goes to the 54. Fun factor would be either. The most usable of the 2 would be the 'Bird. I could imagine 70MPH on the hiway being easier than in the Lincoln. Now that I've probably made you think too much, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Lincoln no question for me. The way I see it though, if you are considering the trade it maybe time for a new ride.
Personally, the Bullet Bird trumps just about everything in my book. That Mordor would be far, far down the road as fast as I could make it happen. Back in the day, Grandma would be driving the Lincoln, and there would be crowds around the T-Bird. You would have had to be there to understand. "Yesterday" has been redefined for sure by many members of the HAMB....Centurion9
Keep your Lincoln...because I've been thinking about buying that T-Bird for my daughter.....I've had my eye on it for quite a while now...
If your getting the itch for the new ride trade, and im sure after a month or so driving the lincoln she would be happy to trade back..... I think dollar for dollar you might actually be a little ahead with the deal..
Not only would I NOT trade the Lincoln, I wouldn't keep the T-Bird if it was given to me. I'd sell it and put the money into something less ugly (just my opinion and no offense to anyone who has one, but I never liked that year for the Birds) But that doesn't matter, because if you're deciding what car you want based on what WE like, you're doing it wrong.
