  2. That has a 61 Rambler American grille insert in it. The rectangular slots are like 1 inch by around 3/8" inch, the cross-shape slots a little bigger.

I don't see why that material wouldn't work, it just depends on the look you're going for.

I used something similar to make a grill insert for my 55. I wanted something that was light and that would keep the air out of the engine compartment (race only).

No, I wouldn't. Personally, I think it looks like a home heating radiator grill. I think if you found someone to do the math, you're probably losing 40% or so of your potential air flow. Maybe not a problem in your car,but--?. Also, if you were Muslim or Jewish,or Buddhist or something,it might be insensitive. :) But, what the hell, it's your car, so if you like it use it!

I used the same exact pattern on my Merc....I bought the sheet at Home Depot, it was gold, I painted it silver, never had any problems with the car running hot, it ran between 180 & 190 all the time...

I'm almost positive that it IS home heating radiator grill. That said, no, I would not use that in my car. For the simple reason that it would make the front of my car look like a home heating radiator grill.

I like cheese, but not on my car
