Yeah, I couldn't agree more Rich. I posted kind of the same sentiment earlier, I always say that it's sometimes better to keep your thoughts to yourself and let others think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Okay, I've seen both cars. I'm a Mopar guy, so there is no serious love for either, although I wouldn't mind a tri-5.
One is well done, clean and a bit boring. The other has been rode hard and could be a huge money pit. But it's a hot rod, and will scare you, make you smile and make you hate it. 57. It will always get that response from buyers too, so if the idea was to flip, Bless your heart!

 

This looks like a huge learning experience for amsvette. The '57 Chevy 150 is the most desirable of that model year to be built as a g***er. Think Black Widow. But each person learns from mistakes and hopefully doesn't repeat them. Good luck next time.

Maybe cars have very different values in different parts of the country but last year I bought a 57 Bel Air 2 door sedan project car. Not running 6 cylinder with Powerglide. Rust in the floors & rockers, rusty trunk, most of the interior missing & basically needing to be completely gone through from top to bottom and I paid 5 grand. So to answer your question, yes, you ****ed up.

 

I'm sure the '66 LTD is making you happy, but.... really? You p***ed up a running/driving '57 Chevy 2dr for $4500?

You could have sold the '57 and built three nice '66 Ford lowriders with the money. Live and learn.

yep most desirable, right after the convertible, the nomad, the corvette, and actually most anything in belair trim.

I would have loved to pay $4500 for that car, but if letting this car get away is the biggest mistake of your life, you are doing pretty well I would say.

 

I dig it! With a little tweaking it could be pretty freakin rad. Astro's, pinners, bellflowers, are a must! Forget about the 57'. I'm soo sick of 57's, but hey what do I know
