I went round to my friends place to pick up some '32 Ford parts and found this torn apart on his lift!

They are repoping alfas here in NZ motors and all huge price but it is like a production line do a search for Auto Restorations Christchurch New Zealand

 

That is Alfa's 8 cylinder DOHC- basically, two of their 4's stuck together, face-to-face

 

With the maroon chassis and red body you may have found the right one. Unless that is the standard chassis color for those years.

So....again....why? Is the guy restoring the car or what? Why is he tearing it all down?

 

It's actually a reproduction of an Alfa Romeo Grand Prix car made in Argentina. The originals go for $10M plus. Jay Leno has one of these reproductions too. Even the repros are really expensive, but it's incredible craftsmanship.
