incredible, ****'s work is right on. awhile back he built me a set up using a Offy dual quad intake, some gear drive slingshots with 4-94's parked on top. Gear Drive has it on there web site and awhile back **** showed it in some of his parts adds. bronze carbs with pale yellow bases and tall stacks with some pale yellow high lights. wild fuel lines that looked like a old wiskey still. this thing made great table art in the house for along time. some roundy round guys that have a full machine shop here in town put my sbc 408 ci togather. i didnt completly agree with everything they did, but since they have been keeping 3-4 cars in the winners circle i figured they were alot more qualified then me and my internet know it all. i have had the engine sitting around for about 6 months and kept dragging *** to fire it up. it had been broke in on a dyno with a RPM intake and straight out of the box 600 Holly. but i wasnt there and never heard it run. since i havent worked on engines for 15 years and longer than that for chevy i was taking my time with the paint, detail, plumbing and all the other little stuff (thanks HAMB for all the help)i really felt i should stick with the 4 barrel untill i get all the bugs in the drive train and ch***is worked out. i got all the intake gaskets set, at the last minute i grabbed the ****ser set up and bolted it down. spun motor with no power, found a couple of fuel fittings that needed a little tightening. what the heck, this thing has gone thru shipping and setting around most of a year. i still was pretty nervous about getting the engine to start first time and have a bunch of carbs to mess with on top of timing and all the other little issues i had with it. so i choked the #1 carb, hit the on switch and cranked it. it was bumpin alittle so a little turn of the distribitur and instant gratifcation. i opened the choke and this mother idled perfect, solid lifters sounding just right, nice chop from the cam and instant idle response. i did not touch the carbs, i know they will need a lot of tuning if i ever get this thing to driver stage. man, a 4 carb set up that i didnt have to touch fires up and runs right off the get go. the ****ster rules!! so you guys that have bought his stuff, get it off the wall and bolt it on. believe me, ****'s stuff looks awsome, but it looks better running. if you are thinking about having someone build a non-cookie cutter custom intake system, then ****'s your man. he is easy to talk with and you will find that his builds are driven by the heart not the dollar. pkj
It is giuys like you that are causing my friend **** to move to Texas! His head has completely out grown Indiana, and will only fit in Texas! All Kidding aside, I completely agree with you. **** has been more than gracious to me helping me either over the phone, or letting me come to his shop to help diagnose, and tune problems out of a set up he didn't even build. More than anything I think he gave me the confidence that carbs are not black art voodoo boxes and even I could work on them with a little patience and a little experience. Glad to hear your motor fired with no problems. Now post some pictures of that set up on your new mill!
And a nicer guy you will never meet, even if only by phone. I had the privelege of speaking with ****ster a couple months ago about my 6x2 SBC setup I want to run. Great advice and really easy to talk to. (It helps that he LOVES trick 2bbl carburetion!) ****, I WILL be in contact with you in the not-too-distant future to get my Weiand/Holley 94 setup cranked out!
He does great work... I've dealt with him too and he treated me like he's known me for years. It's refreshing.
**** is no better than dog poop. Did you guys know that LINDA is the true genius behind all those creations. **** is nothing more than a front man for a poor overworked woman. LINDA RULES.
****ster is the man!! He did my Holleys for my Flatty, and they look brand new inside & out! Left me a message to call if i needed anything, so, i had a question, i called and he was babysitting in Texas!! Told me not to hesitate calling, if i had any problems, or needed any advice! Knows what he is doing, and is very friendly!!
I've know **** for a few years. He wont jerk ya around and tells it like it is.. He shoots ya a price that is very fair and his work is top notch. I send all of my customers who wants a finished intake to him. He has been a customer and a friend.... It's nothing to shoot the **** with this guy on the phone for a hour or two... Great Guy.!!!!
...pkj said that Gear Drive had shot's of his setup that **** built for him on their website...I'd like to see their web site, but Google didn't turn up anything...am I missing something here?
AMEN to this thread, **** rules, he did a ultra fast turnaround for me this last summer before on a couple of bases for me, and they looked BRAND NEW when i got them back. i plan on having more done by him, but being laid off right now shot some of my plans to hell.
Folk, thanks for all the flowery compliments. Believe me they are always appreciated. I only posted here mainly because Paul ask that I show his wild and crazy induction system. It's not hard to see that Paul had a wild and crazy idea for what he wanted on top of his hot rod.
