My preference too. I am having a set of Mopar police wheels blasted & painted '07 Dodge Magnum "Cool Vanilla", an off-white. For a future non-HAMB Mopar.

I saw this at Bonneville last week. AWESOME! Looked great with the white wheels and white pinstripe.

I ran some for a while but they were a total PITA to keep clean so I put hubcaps on 'em.

Yeah, as a teenager in the 60's, I went to the drag races, came home and broke out the white paint. As I recall a lot of the local drag racers ran some kind of mag style wheel on the front with the back steel wheels painted white or black.

I've only ever run white rims on one car in my life. My '75 Firebird stock car had white rims. Why?...it was easier and faster to locate the lug holes in the dark in the pits when changing tires after a flat. (The cheap class got the dark section of the pits, and we raced at night.)

One of my favorite details!!! I don't have anything to show that would fit the forum, but back in the VW days I kinda started a "mini trend" in the Phoenix area 'cause I always did my wheels in bright white powder coat. Working at the biggest shop in town helped too. but I have done several cars with white wheels over the years, and have a second set of ford steel wheels and Firestones mounted and set for the "29 roadster pickup in case I tire of looking at the Halibrands.

If you want to see a bunch of cars with white steel wheels, check out ANY mid fifties pictures from Santa Anna dragway. It seems that was a bit of a fad around that place for years, and looking back in time, that's where I think I first copied it from.

White wheels were very popular with the "Circle Track" racers in the 50's, one reason I was told, it was easier to spot cracks in the centers of the wheels. I especially like them on pickup trucks, for that sanitary, spartan look!

Got the tires on yesterday and the wheels bolted on today. Unfortunately, the 205s rub and I'm trading them in for 195s tomorrow.

Great look. Reminiscent of the Gray Baskerville roadster - which is probably what turned me onto white wheels with blackwalls to begin with.

I ran circle track. White wheels so they could be seen easier on the track when they flew off. Same reason you had to paint the driveshaft white.

In the 60's , if you didn't have chrome wheels or mags , white was the way to go with black hubs and lug nuts .
