Trip to the junkyard today I found an old bird rotting away with the wraparound style back seat still in it. I know some of you guys are using these in customs, what would the seat be worth to move along? AKA, would it be worth my while of going back on my day off and snagging it? I dont know their rate for it, but shouldnt be too bad as its a "bench seat" and some trim.
I haven't looked in the cl***ifieds for a while but last spring it seems they were bringing between 150 and 200 dollars. It would be more than worth your while if they didn't think it was made of gold. try and get everything related to it.
Yeah, snag the "package tray" that fits the top of the seats too... and getting the arm rests might not be bad as well, aren't they also contoured to fit the seat's shape?
yeah, if I get it I'm going to yank everything possible from it. hadnt thought of the top package tray. No power tools allowed, so if its got to be cut out I cant get it.
Recalling my dad's mid '60s T-Birds everything just unbolts or unscrews... I THINK the seat bottom itself just pops out. No cutting necessary on any of it. The package tray is a necessity to help the next owner blend it into whatever they're installing it in. It's just screwed to the structure below.
Eh, might not be worth my while then, It's going to take me time and 50 or so bucks to pull it, so if its only worth 75 ....
If you do go and get it here's a tip. After the seat bottom is out and you remove the screws from the backrests, the seat backs slid down and out not up and out like others do ....
