I do not know about T birds but the cars are on the door post near the hinges on the drivers side.

 

not sure....but loved the episode.....thinking Ford was using the door and or the glove box - BUT - the engine was the serial # I'm thinking until 1959....why they mention that it was marked out and re-stamped.....cool Merc HP cars...

 

I had to watch the whole episode and would like to see more.
