Hit an 8 point buck on my way to the Kontinental's Reliability Run today, about 20 miles from home. Frame swayed to rt side, steering box up against engine crossmember, front edges of doors have paint chips where they hit the lock pillars, waterpump & everything forward wiped out, engine went back against firewall, etc etc etc.

Holy friggin' Bambi! What counts is that you are presumably OK, since you are relating the story to us; the car can be fixed, and you can eat the deer. Mount that head in your shop!

Out of curiosity, how fast were you going? I smacked a deer in Colorado about 30 years ago, with a '41 Chevy PU. The damage was very similar, and I was doing about 35 mph...

****s for you and the deer. both trying to live in the same area. the car can be fixed, you and the deer its alittle tougher. Hopefully you had full insurance coverage and it can be fixed during the winter months

Glad to hear you and your old lady are OK

I hope you took the deer home MMMMMMMMM back strap. I would have gutted it on the side of the road then strapped it to the fender of the 34 when the roll back showed up. Just imagine the look on peoples faces when they seen it up on the truck with a deer on the fender:eek:

I was hit by 200lb'er in the side of my famley car. ****er hit me in the right rear door. quite a thump, $3800 damage. head on must have been quite a scare! Glad to hear you're alright. If it makes you feel any better, I have a dozen buddies out in the hill country trying hard to shoot'em. Best of luck to you!

Awe man!!! That stinks, I'm so sorry.

I hit a smaller doe last year with the front left tire of the coupe on the way back from a show in MN and all it did was bent the tie rod in a V.
