Thanks. I'm not relying on that nss, but getting one to mount on the trans shift lever as original (it's a 4L60E). It's ready for paint, just a little more masking tomorrow morning, then go get a quart of color, and I'll be shooting paint in the afternoon. Weather permitting...

Thanks! Made me sick too, but I'm over it now. The big check from Hagerty will ease the pain even more! It's in paint now, and will go back together pretty fast, I hope. I brush touched the cowl and hood chips, that worked well with the bc/cc. I managed to hang a big curtain in the fender, but it's in the clear, so I just buried it under more clear. You know what they say, "That'll buff right out!"

    Nice recovery!!

Hell, I hope that GMC with the steer horns on it has a working NSS. I wouldn't want to be standing in front of that if it ever took off!

Funny you should mention that! A month ago I walked around the front of it, and ran right into the tip of those horns. I'm still sporting the ugly bruise on my chest. If I hadn't had a Carhart jacket on, I'd have been gored!

Thank God it was a truck, and not a lowrider...you'd have some different balls on the ends!

No, what I need is a neutral safety switch on a very common aftermarket shifter that is easy to adjust, and STAYS adjusted, not one that, like many others of it's kind, fails to work as it should.

You should inform Lokar on what happened and point out that not just you are having problems.

Maybe they can do better :) ;)

Let us know what you come up with.

Good to see you dodged a bullet on this one, Brian. Care to comment on Hagerty's
claim service? Fair compensation considering YOU provided the labor for repairs?
    (I may switch to them..)

  18. As I said before the Mopar in the trans switch is pretty fool proof, so how about putting one right at the trans on the linkage and avoiding the Lokar altogether?

Show us an example of what you mean and how it mounts - operates.

    B & M makes a wide selection of shifters.

We are more interested in a NSS solution for Lokar than we are interested in B&M shifters.

Brian, if you have a solution please share it. :)

Hahaha ! :pThe Mopar lockout switch is fool proof, but who wants to install a Mopar transmission to get an internal lockout switch . They also are used with manual Morpar ****** since 1947. It's not rocket science . I made my own back in the day when I changed from a Packard manual gearbox to an R-Type Hydro. I used freight elevator switchs.:D
