Can wrist pins be found by dia and length? I need just the pins as the used pistons will still take a thumb press with a new pin from a new piston. Rods will be rebuilt.

Summit lists them sortable by diameter and length.

Mic the skirts too. Be sure the skirts have not "collapsed".

The other consideration besides diameter and length is weight. A thick walled wrist pin can be considerably heavier than a more standard one. You would want to stay close to the original weight.

    Yes, by diameter and length.
AND what Jim said. Wrist pins come both straight walled (I.D.) AND tapered wall.
Make sure of what you have in the rest of the pistons, and buy the same. There normally is a pretty large weight difference.

Note, that if the engine is just a cruzer, doesn't make it much past 3000 or so RPM, either will work.

Thanks all. I should have said pin dia. of .625 x 2.250. There was a listing for a B&S Raptor engine but it did not give dia. so I been hunting for dia., can't seem to get the right combo for search.:(

What exact engine is it for? I'd be surprised if you can find pins for small engines using size searches.

If you can come close on the diameter, a good machine shop can ream the piston bores and fit with bushings if needed. Overly long is not a problem as the shop can fit that, too. Expensive? Yes. Time and aggravation saving? Absolutely.

I think he can buy a set of new pistons with pins in them for a couple hundred bucks, so that option probably isn't likely to be done...???

If you are dealing with a simple straight pin, .625 ought to be a pretty common diameter. Length is pretty easy to shorten. Since its for a Crosley and probably won't see high rpms, I wonder if you get desperate if a dowel pin might be convertable. You could also look at drill rod and cut it to length. Redneck for sure, but if you can't find anything..............

Edit add: Most car pins are much larger than what you need. You might try looking at some motorcycle pins. .625= 15.87 mm don't know what length they might be.

Looks like a 16mm(.62992) pin would be about .005 larger than a .625 pin. If you get into that, Amazon has a 16mm reamer for about $13. I'd get an adjustable reamer and ream undersize, then a small hone to fit it......or drill a hole in something and ream it and check the pin fit before reaming the finished parts.
    Good luck with it.

^^^Thank you for your effort^^^ I have managed to find a set of new std. Crosley or****eol pins or combo. I may have to shorten pins and/or make the*****ons. I have adjustable reamers and small hone so if what I'm getting doesn't pan out I will go the 16mm route. Thanks again.
