I always like seeing what everyone is up too here. And since I did some hot rod type work for the first time in a while I thought I'd start it off.

I started working on a set of lakes headers for the little TRPU.

Also sold a Harley today, and I'm happy to see it go to a new home.

Took the harsh modified Chevy Luv seat out of the coupe and put in a nice comfy Caravan tilt seat. Huge difference. And it was free to boot. Picked it out of a guys trash pile by his curb. Perfect shape. Wonder why he was pitching it. I put the same old seat cover I was using on it.

Did a bust *** yesterday on the A. Installed the new brake ***emble under the floor. Installed the gas pedal. Installed GM steering column. It was a good day but, I'm feeling it this morning. You know, that sore muscle feeling, but you know that you got alot done so it's a good sore feeling. (hope that's understandable).

I got alot done! - But, my wife lost the battery to my digital camera - so I have no pics.
I built new front cowl/firewall mounts for my coupe (which took up most of Sat.) and then pulled the doors off Sun. About the door removal - Warning - if anyone uses the pin puller from Eastwood (Bob Drake made) watch out pushing out pins on a Model A. The push pin is larger diameter that the actual door pin - this makes thing real interesting! Anyway - after alot of cursing and head scratching I got the pins out and the doors off.
Why does the easy jobs become hard and the hard jobs turn out easy?
Got to put on some patch panels today. Later......

  14. Took the '51 for a spin, pretty much for the first time in 8 months. I'd run her around the parking lot of the shop a couple times, but the alignment needed adjusting and the new switch for the brake lights needed wiring. Got all that done, along with wiring the headlights, and hit the road. I can't really describe the feeling...the last time I drove this car, it had a tired 235 with stock suspension (other than the blocks in the rear). The motor we built is nasty! :D
Lots to finish and change, but she's back on the road.

Slapped the '62 VW bus steering box on the AV8, fabbed the tie rods and drag link, Also welded on a ford- tapered pitman arm end in place of the VW's . I still need to adjust the box's location to minimize bumpsteer, looks like the box needs to be mounted about 1" lower.

At least you don't have to worry if the car were to fall on her. I don't think she would even need a jack.

I came home Thursday night! Does that count? After being in So Cal for 2 months, I finally got to come home for a while. Since mid December, I've been home for like a total of seven weeks. Not sure for how long I'll be home this time, prolly 3-4 months this time, so I gotta make the best of it. The wife has a whole new honey-do list for the house and I still have the coupe waiting in the garage. I wonder who will win that priority battle?

Pulled the enclosed driveline on my 59 buick and converted it over to an open drive hanging on a 4 link. re-built the complete brake system. Ran new hard and rubber lines, wheel cylinder overhaul, converted old tredle vac unit to a dual master cylinder on a 7" booster and mounted on the firewall. Got newly overhauled 401 and sp 400 mounted in the car. Modified the existing trans mount. Fired the beast off for the first time. Next I will mount all ***essories[too many "S"]and rewire for alternator. I still need to have a drivline made and put the frontend back on. It took 3-12 hour days. I felt like I'd been whipped with a wet rope from crawling on the concrete floor for 3 days. It was worth it though. TP
