    Hell, even thinking about attending???

    Please PM me.

    Thanks.

  2. I looked into it once but its just so domn expensive for 10 months of schooling.
Since your in So. Texas you might want to check out OSU Okmulgee its gotten pretty high reviews. It takes a little longer but it is cheaper I believe.

  3. I just tried PMing you but it came back with an error saying "the following user cannot be found" so no PM..

    No No No.

I dont want to go there...
I want to talk to grads or upcoming grads...

After my dealings with their Job Placement people, I wouldnt count on them helping you get a job. They wont call us back or anything. I've been trying for the last three weeks.

Brickster - Do they do classes for non full time students? I mean if someone wanted to take a few classes and not the whole shebang for a degree, do they do that?

The McPherson school is a restoration college but it's funded by Jay Leno and is a great school, they do everything from engine machining to upholstery to one of body fabrication to building high quality woodies. great staff too, took a tour, conversed with some instructors, great people.

On a side note, it looks like WyoTech is hiring quite a few instructors. I have been seeing adds for them up here in the Denver newspapers and job boards lately.

I Went Way Back In 94. Iwent Through The Collision Refinishing And Then Through The Street Rod Program. It Was Only The Second Class But From What I Here Its Much Better. As Far As The School I Learned A Whole Lot. No One In My Family Had Ever Turned A Wrench And My Only Exp Was Highschool Bodyshop. After Grad Their Placement Was All Over The Country But Not Back Home. So That Wasnt Any Help. Back Then It Seemed Like No One Had Herd Of The Place So When I Applied It Had No Help. I Started Like Everyone Else Striping Pealers At The Dealership. Worked As A Painter For About 10 Years And Went To School To Be A Teacher. Im Working My Way In To The Bodyshop Where I Got Started. The District Seems Interested That I Went To Wyotech And I Have A Teaching Degree So Maby The It Will Pay Off. Good Or Bad I Had Fun.

Brick- I've heard that class sizes are getting pretty big. How many students are in a classroom/shop? Maybe this might be a better question, what is the student to teacher ratio for the street rod classes? Thanks!

    Dear jon frunco,

Thank you for your heartfelt leter.

Are you good at sanding metal flake off cars and re-painting them satin black??

We need a few people that can pull out SBC's and replace them with Ford Flatheads.

We pay weekly with blank checks, you just have to fill in the amount your worth.

    When can you start??

I'll try and answer some of the questions.

First I'd like to state the WyoTech grads are entry-level techs.

Studillac- you should here the way we talk about people that work at parts stores. But that is a general assumption and I'm sure you and people you work with are smart and get lumped in with the people at AutoZone that need to know if the car I got my engine out of had A/C in order to give me a Ford starter solenoid. It's not fair to judge a group as a whole, you and I need to look at people as individuals

gearhead1940- Class sizes are getting larger but we have more shop space, more equipment and the student/teacher ratio is the same as it ever was (16:1 give or take)

Colorado51- Yes we need street rod instructors, I will admit that dealing with students can be challenging but the benefits are incredible, by that I mean we get to use the shop. How many jobs out there in the car building field encourage you to bring your own car in, give you a stall to leave it in, and all the tools you could dream of to use. 2am lights on, compressor on and free to do as you wish and your not breaking any rules, the more you work on your car the better skills you get and the better instructor you become. It's not all roses, parts of the job suck, like disciplining students, Laramie WY is not the most fun place on the planet but I'm sure there are some place that are worse. It's just one more reason to work on your car.

Outkast- I don't know what to say. If I knew your son I hope in his eyes I always treated him fairly. We have had a few students from Wichita and I can't remember one I didn't like. Do you know Jeb and Joe McGreggor?

Oh yea, I called Jason and I think I have got his problem worked out. If you need something from WyoTech please call the branch directly. If you respond through the web site it gets routed thru the corporate office and who knows where is goes from there.
