A big shout out to Dave Redman for stopping by yesterday and helping sort out a cam timing problem.
Got it all working today and it degreed in dead on the cam card numbers.
Also want to thank Jimmy at Jimmy's Engine Service
    For his trusted wisdom.
He had me check out the head that was on the blown up engine because he thought because the piston did hit the head he has seen where the head will distort. And guess what.
    It was, thank you Jimmy.
See photo.. i had to mill the head .012 to straighten it out. 20221110_104646.jpg

  6. I'm ***uming that's because the cam would be 'backwards' with the chain drive.

A little something new for the future of the 640 project. I'll let Dave Russell fill in the details. IMG_8757.jpg IMG_8758.jpg IMG_8759.jpg IMG_8761.jpg IMG_8762.jpg IMG_8763.jpg IMG_8764.jpg

Just another XO motor. It will be a little different from the 262.

Dave under no cir***stances remove the crank gear oiler on the front plate no matter what gear set you use. Make sure the gasket you use has the cut slot. Also tap the holes in the front main for the cover. 3/8’s course will be fine even tho the threads are not 100%. I like header bolts for those 2 lower attaching cap screws with the 3/8” head.
As a suggestion make sure your transmission is prepared to have the lowest amount of resistance as possible. An overdrive has never worked for me unless we were running on fuel and it was gear specific. We will be returning to Bonneville this year with our roadster as my grandson wants to drive it; first time since 2012.

Yesterday the team installed the new Ford 270 Cu. In. Engine that we have been working on since we blew up our OG engine in 20230128_121653.jpg 20230128_104149.jpg Arkansas last year.
It's been an expensive endeavor but it's coming together.
This rag tag team is the best, love you guys

Is the water pump a Meziere? If it is how much pressure is in the system? Thanks. The one I use is rated at 55 gpm.

That's a Tom Skinner 12 port cross flow head for a GMC 302 once owned and raced by Joe Fontana. Under the valve cover is a custom rocker ***embly from Don Furgeson. And I want to publicly thank JD Tone @jimmy six for all his advice and help on this new engine. It will put us in XO/MP and **O/MP. You can see the intake ports on the Skinner head in the middle photo below. Still looking for a factory 302 head if anyone has any leads. 302 small.png
