The alternator bracket looks like a nice piece and, considering the apparent quality, the price isn't all that bad. My experience with the cheap ones from the usual suspects is that they won't hold adjustment very long.

Yep, I have been looking at these myself. I have a 312 build ongoing and just shipped out my rotating ***embly for grinding and balancing. I hope to have things together in January to start putting the block together.

I have seen a plethora of log type headers for 55/56 p***enger cars, one or two 4 into 1 tube type headers for the Y Block in trucks and/or hot rods, and of course I have the 57 exhaust manifolds on my car. Ted Eaton did a horsepower comparison of a variety of Y Block exhaust manifolds and headers but did not include the ones from Rex unfortunately. Jerry Christenson (who refuses to use "confusers" as he calls computers) used to build a set of 4 into 1 long tube for 55/56 p***enger cars but his health is not good. As I recall, his price was on par with RexHP (Gord McMillan).

If anyone has any ideas do let me know. It is a shame to see hundreds of different small block Chevrolet long/short tube headers currently available and almost nothing for the Y Block. Take about a price difference in manufacturing cost!

I did pick up a nice set of Y Block header flanges from Speedway not too long ago - they are indeed 3/8" thick, not the 1/4" listed. Also, I bought a random SBC set of used headers at a swap meet to see what I could do begin building a set one of these days.

For those of us who are in the works to build performance Y Blocks the offerings are few and far between.
